Our Objectives
The Objectives of the Machine Embroidery Guild Inc. (MEGInc) are as follows:
- To provide a platform for Machine Embroideres and like minded people to exchange information and develop their skills.
- To encourage the continued professional development of its Members through Seminars, Courses, State, Regional, National and International events.
- To provide regular communication between members through newsletters, electronic forums, meetings and mail.
- To consolidate the crafts of Machine Embroidery as an art form.
- To promote and align the Association with associated manufacturers for the benefit of the members.
We shall provide a central point for Machine Embroiderers, Digitisers, Quilters and others associated with the art of Embroidery. Where Members can communicate and exchange information, with like minded people through: Local: Regional: National and International meetings and events, as through electronic communication including (but not restricted to) e-mail, forums and other forms of communication.
Our Beginnings
The Machine Embroidery Guild became an Incorporated Association on 8 August 2005. The main driving force was to stage an Event catering to Embroidery Digitisers around Australia (ultimately it proved to be more of an International event with expressions of interest from Canadians and New Zealanders).
The Event has attracted two Presenters, Kathy Jones (Canuk) and Carolyn Keber (Kiwi) - so the Canuk/Kiwi/Aussie relationship was established. Add to this that the software manufacturer is Slovak - we have a truly International, nay, Global event about to happen in "the Land Downunder".
We have had a tremendous response as Expressions of Interest and are looking forward to providing a quality and fun event for all!
